Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Department diagnoses, manage, and treat disorders and injuries of the musculoskeletal system including rehabilitation after orthopedic surgery. The students are trained in the physiotherapy treatment of non-operative and post-operative orthopedic conditions which includes fractures, acute sports injuries, arthritis, sprains, strains, back and neck pain, spinal conditions and amputations etc. Those who have suffered injury or disease affecting the muscles, bones, ligaments, or tendons of the body will benefit from assessment by a physical therapist specialized in orthopedics.

Department of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy focuses on providing excellent teaching learning experience to the students both in academics and clinics. The students are trained to assess, diagnose and manage patients with physiotherapy following the recent clinical practice guidelines. Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy department emphasizes on improving Clinical skills of students with clinical reasoning and problem based approach through skill development training programs in tabs. Knowing the importance of Research in clinical field, students are promoted for conducting small projects or studies in clinical set up.

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy is a specialized branch of physiotherapy restores mobility and overall function after accidental injury, orthopedic disease, surgical procedures, and sports injuries, physical problems due to aging or lifestyle etc. Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy focuses on providing structural rehabilitation to the patients in community with targeted goals to manage pain and functional impairments to facilitate speedy recovery. Advanced treatment strategies like Manual therapy. Taping, electrotherapy, clinical practice guidelines for treating orthopaedic conditions are implemented for treating OPD/IPD patients.

- To determine the physical therapy needs of any patient through clinical examination and problems-based evaluation.
- To develop and implement the physiotherapy protocol for pain and maintain and restore strength, range of motion, endurance , coordination etc for orthopedic related conditions.
