This is the basic laboratory. This lab has all electrotherapy equipments and diagnostic equipments needed for undergraduate and post graduate training as per the syllabus.
The Electrotherapy lab in the college trains the students of First, Second Year BPTH in all functional electrical modalities.
The lab consists of Low Frequency, Medium Frequency, High frequency, Actinotherapy, Cryotherapy, Superficial heating Modalities And Deep Heating Modalities.
The department focuses on the various Principles, Techniques, Effects, Indication, Contra-indication, Precautions and the dosage parameter for various indications of electro therapeutic modalities in the restoration of physical function.
Departmental Objectives:
To provide Physiotherapy knowledge based on recent practices in Electrotherapy and Electro diagnosis to under graduate and post graduate students.
- To train the student to apply various principles of Electrotherapy and electrodiagnosis.
- To apply educational concepts of education in clinical practice of Electrotherapy
- Electrotherapy is used for relaxation of muscle spasms, prevention and retardation of disuse atrophy, increase of local blood circulation, muscle rehabilitation, and reeducation by electrical muscle stimulation, maintaining and increasing range of motion, management of chronic and intractable pain, posttraumatic acute pain, postsurgical acute pain.
- To organize and provide opportunity for continued physiotherapy education and skill development in Electrodiagnosis.
- To determine the physical therapy needs of any patient through Electrodiagnosis, and evaluation.
- To develop and implement the physiotherapy protocol for patients with the help of various Electrotherapy principles
